Siebel FAST-forwards its search capability
Fast Search and Transfer (FAST) has announced a multi-year partnership with business-applications software provider, Siebel.
Under the terms of the agreement, FAST’s InStream enterprise-search technology will be integrated within Siebel’s core business-applications platform. The partnership will also enable Siebel to leverage the solution across its internal systems – several deployments of which are expected later this year.
“FAST is a partner-orientated company. We will not enter the CRM, ERP, document-management or content-management worlds. We rely on our partners to win these markets,” says John Lervik, CEO of FAST. “Our role is to provide our partners with the best search functionality. This will allow us to continue our focus on innovation and to expand our technology lead. So the Siebel agreement is very strategic to us.”
FAST has similar partnership agreements with EMC and Computer Associates.
