Open-source CMS takes on market
A team of content management veterans, including the founder of Documentum, has released an open-source enterprise-content management system (CMS) that small-to-medium sized businesses and developers can download.
The first of its kind, the Alfresco CMS is an open-standards content repository built on service-orientated technologies and standards from the past decade to aid cheaper, easier integration.

Open source BI consolidation
Open source business intelligence (BI) provider Pentaho is joining forces with the Mondrian Online Analytical Processing project (OLAP).
Mondrian OLAP will become a permanent feature of the Pentaho project, which provides reporting, analysis, workflow and data-mining capabilities.
Mondrian’s OLAP Server supports the aggregation, calculation and categorisation of
data from standard relational databases.

Inxight adds clustering to search product
Inxight Software has launched the latest version of its SmartDiscovery Awareness Server product, which features entity clustering for more rapid access to information.
The enhancement enables users to query internal and external sources from one search box then cluster and filter them into the most appropriate groups. The product also provides a range of intelligent filtering and preview options.

CPL experiences strong growth
CPL (Capture Projects Ltd) has been ranked at number eleven in the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a list of
the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the UK’s northern and midland regions.
The rankings are based on average percentage revenue growth over the past five years. CPL has grown by a massive 690 per cent since 2000, with a current annual turnover of £3.2m.
