Microsoft acquires ActiveViews
INDUSTRY GIANT Microsoft has extended its business intelligence (BI) offerings with the acquisition of ActiveViews.
Microsoft will incorporate ActiveViews technology into its SQL Server, part of the Windows Server System, in an effort to offer a complete BI platform that will increase employee efficiency at low cost. Using ActiveViews, end users will be able to access and modify existing reports and build new reports in a web-based environment.

IDOX extends reach with TFPL takeover
I-DOCUMENTSYSTEMS (IDOX), a local authority e-government solutions provider, has acquired TFPL, the knowledge and information-management consultancy.

ADIC partners HP
ADVANCED DIGITAL Information Corporation (ADIC), a storage solutions provider, has joined the HP information-lifecycle-management partnership programme.
ADIC will work with HP to provide data-management software to mutual customers in a bid to automate the management of information, documents and data from creation through to deletion. ADIC believes it will also help companies meet information access and retention requirements.

Accenture allies with FileNet
CONSULTING FIRM Accenture has joined forces with enterprise-content-management company FileNet to produce new technology enabling insurance field agents and other mobile workers to electronically perform tasks that once required masses of paperwork.
The Digital Pen Connector software allows mobile workers to capture and transmit information to a central repository – the FileNet enterprise-content-management system, where it can be used to initiate business processes, avoiding traditional paper-based systems.
